Pureé Potato Recipe with Beaba!

Super simple mash potato recipe I had like to share! If you have beaba you can totally make them!

4 biji kentang
Keju (secukup rasa)
4 biji bawang putih

Steam them and blend! YES blend the garlic too! Even for a non garlic lover like me, i loveeee it! And yes NO SALT OR SUGAR PLEASE! PARENTS THIS IS WAY HEALTHIER THAN FAST FOOD MASH POTATO OR ANY STORE BOUGHT ONES! AND THIS USES REAL POTATO NOT POWDERED ONES!!

Btw thats my meal and yes i uses beaba plate since its tad too big for pumpkin now. And thats baked salmon!

(WICB) What I chose for my baby-DIAPER

Ok so I've decided to start this small little posts of 'what i chose for my baby'.
Basically it will be about products that my baby uses or have used previously and why. Initially wanted to call it 'products my baby uses but then the post will be more of me babbling on why i decided to use a certain product for my baby so thus the title! Usually upon wanting to buy products for our baby, bubs and I will discuss after I have done and compiled all my research about the suitability of the product(s) for my baby and also the ease of use for baby, myself and bubs. Then upon further discussion, research then we will either purchase the product or scrap the idea of buying it or I continue researching/finding of a better product.
Of course you might think 'why only the wife does the research?', fret not but bubs does his fair amount of research too. Also some might think 'wow so kiasu buy stuff also must research meh'. Of course! We want the best for our baby and if the best is within our reach why not?! It is important to know what is in the products that our family uses!

Ok for this 1st post of WICB I will start with talking about diapers!

When baby NA was still in my tummy I did my research and found that Pampers Swaddlers are the best followed by Huggies. Of course I had wanted to use Seventh Generation or those eco friendly, bio degredable diapers or Honest but its harder to get them in Singapore and for some reason I thought I rather stick to Pampers.

● So baby 1st used Huggies because the hospital uses them on him and then he changed to pampers swaddlers which i love!! It fits him perfectly because we also got Huggies NB and it was tad too big for baby. At the hospital they used Huggies JB (just born) not readily available at hypemarket etc. so far I have only seen it at the hospital! NEVER LEAKED BEFORE. Its tape are good, not overly sticky. Huggies diapers are pretty narrow which may leak if you were to use it with older babies who have more poops! Especially babies who started on solid.

● Baby then used Pampers Swaddlers, I love it so much! So soft, tape was great cutting was right and there was indicator!! So baby is breastfed thus his NB poop did not had a strong smell to it, having the indicator makes life so easy! You just look at the line and you know if baby poo or peed! And it NEVER LEAKED! Pampers diapers are narrow and poop may leak.

● We then let baby use Mamy Poko which also never leaked but it was thick like way too thick and does not have pee indicator thus making us think that baby peed a lot thus we change his diaper when actually baby just peed once!! Mamy poko diapers are wide too.

● We also let baby tried on Merries which we love! Very absorbent! Have indicator and never leaked, material was not too thick like Mamy Poko! The diapers are wide.

● We also let baby used Goon because from what we see, diapers from Japan are the best! I love Goon's diapers they have cute prints on their diapers but they leaked almost every night! The diapers are also wide so baby have ample space for their business!

●Bosomi diapers that we let our baby tried has the softest cotton feel ever! However just like Goon it does leak on some days and I don't like how the area where you tape is quite wide too wide to even tape sometimes.

● And lastly we let baby tried Onwards diapers because they were new diapers at that time and they are quite affordable (cheap la basically). Till today baby is using Onwards because it has never leak (Ok maybe leak a few times but not as much as Goon and Bosomi). Only that they don't have indicator and are in between narrow and wide!

Will upload pictures when I have time soon!!

Review: Béaba Babycook Pro

Baby NA stares at people eating and make chewing motion when he was 5 months old actually no, when he waz 4 months he totally understood what food is and when his parents eat he stares at them and wish for a bite (or so i thought).
So i previously baked or boil food and then mash it for him sometimes bubs blend it but of course the consistency of the food is not good as sometimes theres lumps of sweet potato in it. (Please of course i didnt feed baby lumps of sweet potato). We also fed him food from Hipp Organics, Holle Organics (my two top trusted and favourite brands of food) and Heinz (we had no choice as none of my top two trusted brand was available so heinz it is.

So of course I wanted to make baby food that is blended correctly and so I did my research to find the right tool.
So....

Initially I wanted to purchase Philips Avent Steamer Blender because they are so convenient to use and at the end of the day you don't need to do lots of dishes. However I soon noticed that baby NA does not favour food that is cold. Basically if the purée is cold he would not be interested in eating anymore. Also I was not sure if I could steam rice or pasta etc. using Philips Avent.

I soon found out about Béaba and thought of getting the Béaba original because I thought it is the best. Moving on I found out about Béaba Babycook Pro/Solo so after discussing with bubs he agreed we will get Béaba. Then I found out about Babymoov food processor that has the same function as Béaba. So I was conflicted between the two. Did more research and felt that Babymoov is too big and we don't have much space on the countertop also it have lots of parts means more washing! URGH!

Now that I have been using Béaba for few weeks am really glad we got it!
Because;
1) It is small and compact and sits nicely on our cabinet.
2) Not much washing needed!
3) The purees are smooth and perfect to me!
4) Am able to do lots of things with the Béaba! Just yesterday I boiled pasta using it for my own meal! You can even make pasta sauce! So basically even if you child no longer wants to eat puree (like mine) you can still use the Béaba!

But of course to cook pasta with Béaba you have to purchase the pasta cooker!

Feeding/Weaning

Running out of ideas of what to feed lil NA...
tried of Beaba Babycook Pro for the 1st time today! Quite happy with it except that i prolly put tad too little water when blending the papaya. Was unable to decide if i should let lil NA eat his papaya using the Munchkin food feeder but in the end decided to blend it instead.
We still have 1 jar of Hipp Organics Plum and Apple.

Butternut squash

Baby N.A seem to love butternut squash and always seem to want more than 2 tablespoons. So decided to bake half butternut squash for 30-40 minutes at 180 degree celcius. Scoop them out and just mash with a fork and thats it!
